Basketball Recap: Mccutcheon Piles Up the Points Against Seeger

McCutcheon won against Danville two weeks ago with 76 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The McCutcheon Mavericks blew past the Seeger Patriots 76-35. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading McCutcheon to victory were Brody Baker and Brody Raeke. Baker went 9 of 11 en route to 22 points and three steals, while Raeke went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and four steals. That's the most steals Raeke has posted since back in February of 2024. Henry Dexter was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

McCutcheon was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seeger only racked up six assists.

Seeger's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Salts, who posted eight points, and Cory Moore-Walker, who put up two points.

McCutcheon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Seeger, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

McCutcheon will square off against Lafayette Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lafayette Jefferson sitting on four straight wins and McCutcheon on five. As for Seeger, they will take on Riverton Parke at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seeger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
