Softball Recap: Nashua South Victorious

Nashua South's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Manchester Central Little Green by a score of 6-3. The victory continues a trend for the Purple Panthers in their matchups with the Little Green: they've now won four in a row.

Cate Marvin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brooke Berger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicki Gates, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Nashua South's win bumped their record up to 6-13-1. As for Manchester Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Nashua South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Little Green: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
