With a playoff win on the line, King Philip Regional rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Newton North Tigers a 12-0 shutout. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was King Philip Regional's third in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Newton North, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

King Philip Regional will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
