Baseball Recap: Myrtle Beach Comes Up Short

Myrtle Beach fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Waccamaw on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Waccamaw Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Myrtle Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gibson Goodroe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Myrtle Beach's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Waccamaw, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Myrtle Beach is taking a road trip to challenge St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (St. James 4, Myrtle Beach 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Waccamaw, they will challenge Marlboro County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
