Softball Game Preview: Lemoore Tigers vs. Sierra Pacific Golden Bears

The Lemoore Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lemoore is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Lemoore came up short against Frontier on Wednesday, falling 9-2.

Lemoore saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Bivens, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that Bivens got this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sierra Pacific). They put the hurt on Fresno with a sharp 12-2 victory on Friday. With that win, the Golden Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Sierra Pacific let Miranda Reyes and Anaya Zaragoza run wild. Reyes scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Zaragoza went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Tafolla, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Sierra Pacific kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Sierra Pacific and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Lemoore, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Lemoore beat Sierra Pacific 10-5 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Lemoore have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sierra Pacific turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
