Maize South faced Hutchinson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mavericks never let the Salthawks get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering Maize South have won eight matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maize South has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those seven contests. As for Hutchinson, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Maize South will head out on the road to take on Maize on Thursday. As for Hutchinson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Academy at 6:30 p.m. on May 8.
