Baseball Recap: Cascade Takes a Loss

If Cascade was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Marysville-Pilchuck on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bruins came up short against the Lake Stevens Vikings on Friday, falling 12-1. Bruins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vikings since on Friday.

Cascade saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcell Alexander, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cascade has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Lake Stevens, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Lake Stevens will challenge Emerald Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' game: after the Vikings face off against the Jaguars, they'll take on Cascade again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
