Softball Recap: Smithfield-Selma Spartans vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs
Smithfield-Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-20 to the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-42 last Friday.
Smithfield-Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Southeast Raleigh, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithfield-Selma will host Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithfield-Selma has given up an average of 27.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fuquay - Varina at 4:00 p.m.
