Softball Recap: Ray Texans vs. Alice Coyotes

Ray had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-15 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Alice Coyotes by a score of 10-9. The Texans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Coyotes earlier this season, when they won 19-7.

Kaliey Benavides led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Alice, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On Alice's side, Dalyhla Sanchez was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Sanchez has posted since back in February. Madison Padron was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
