Basketball Game Preview: Blanchester Wildcats vs. Mariemont Warriors

The Blanchester Wildcats will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Mariemont Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Blanchester is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Clinton-Massie 49-26 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mariemont waltzed into their game last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 37-36 win over the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Blanchester's record now sits at 2-6. As for Mariemont, their record now sits at 6-1.

Blanchester suffered a grim 60-35 defeat to Mariemont when the teams last played back in January. Can Blanchester avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
