The Summit Shasta Black Bears will square off against the More Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Shasta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Summit Shasta is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering South San Francisco just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Caden Frost made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Summit Shasta's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Milo Jung, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask More). Their pitchers stepped up to hand MacDonald a 16-0 shutout last Wednesday. Considering the Knights have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Zep Cortese was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Anthony Selway was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
More always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win (which was More's third in a row) raised their record to 9-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Summit Shasta, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Summit Shasta has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like More struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Summit Shasta suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to More in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Black Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
