Volleyball Recap: Lillian Hayden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union over Brockway

Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Brockway Rovers, falling 3-0. If the Knights/Damsels were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Rovers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-19, 25-15.

Several Knights/Damsels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lillian Hayden, who had 20 digs and one assist. Hayden is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Haley Corle, who had five kills, five aces, and one block.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Brockway, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Union has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Brookville on the 30th. As for Brockway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Marys at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
