Softball Recap: Olympus Makes It 16 in a Row at Home

Olympus came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Highland Rams as they made off with a 25-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Charlie Turner looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaedin Mugleston was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adi Comer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Olympus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Olympus pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Olympus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Skyline on the 18th. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-5 win against Alta on the 22nd.
