Softball Recap: McLeod Takes a Loss

After soaring to 21 runs the game before, McLeod was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against the Maud Cardinals, falling 12-2. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for McLeod and nudges their season record down to 8-6. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Maud, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

While McLeod had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
