Mount Vernon has gone 10-0 against Dugway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Mount Vernon Patriots just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Dugway Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mount Vernon is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against American Prep WV on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mount Vernon was dealt an 80-30 loss at the hands of American Prep WV. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.

Alex Song put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 11 points. Andre Hernandez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Dugway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Telos. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Mount Vernon will have to keep a close watch on Tanner Thackeray and Gary Williams Jr, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dugway's prior game. Thackeray had 21 points, while Williams Jr put up 21 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Mount Vernon and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for Dugway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Mount Vernon against Dugway when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-32 win. In that contest, Mount Vernon amassed a halftime lead of 44-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
