Baseball Recap: Friona Takes a Loss

Friona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Dimmitt Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-2 back in March.

Abram Rocha made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Friona's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Dimmitt, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Coincidentally, Friona and Dimmitt will both be playing Shallowater the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will head out to face the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Chieftans will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
