Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kamaron Pritchard and Luke Anderson Lead Lafayette to Victory

The Lafayette Commodores didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Hernando Tigers on Friday, but they still walked away with a 17-12 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Commodores.

Leading Lafayette to victory were Luke Anderson and Kamaron Pritchard. Anderson rushed for 61 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while Pritchard rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown. Pritchard also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making four total tackles.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lafayette was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Lafayette now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hernando, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will look to defend their home field on Friday against PURE Academy at 7:00 p.m. The Commodores are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hernando, they will head out on the road to take on Horn Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
