Softball Recap: Vestaburg Find Success

Vestaburg came out on top against Ovid-Elsie on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Wolverines walked away with a 10-6 win over the Marauders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Addison Neelis made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Myers was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Megan Beetley, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Vestaburg's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Ovid-Elsie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vestaburg beat Ovid-Elsie by a score of 5-4 later that day.
