Softball Game Preview: East Hampton Bellringers vs. Morgan Huskies

The East Hampton Bellringers will square off against the Morgan Huskies at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. East Hampton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

East Hampton took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Westbrook by a score of 8-4. The win continues a trend for the Bellringers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won seven in a row.

Addison Jump was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Jovel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

East Hampton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to Haddam-Killingworth.

East Hampton's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Everything went East Hampton's way against Morgan when the teams last played back in April, as East Hampton made off with a 21-3 win. Will the Bellringers repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
