Baseball Game Preview: Andalusia Bulldogs vs. Wetumpka Indians

The Andalusia Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Wetumpka Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Andalusia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Andalusia saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They fell just short of Opp by a score of 8-7.

Andalusia got a good showing from Tucker Ward, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Ward has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grover Wells and Row Thorn did some serious damage despite the final result: Wells scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Thorn scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Wells a new career-high in RBI (two). Riley Cravey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wetumpka suffered their biggest loss since February 27th on Saturday. They came up short against Holtville, falling 14-1.

Wetumpka has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. Andalusia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1.

Andalusia suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Wetumpka in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Andalusia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
