The Mount View Golden Knights will head out on the road to take on the WestSide Renegades at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mount View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Mount View, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-36 loss to Wyoming East. While losing is never fun, Mount View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Wyoming East is ranked 32nd).
Despite the loss, Mount View got a solid performance out of Matthias Johnson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Zymir Martin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, WestSide entered their tilt with Liberty with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. WestSide breezed by Liberty on the road to the tune of 87-52 on Monday. WestSide has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.
Mount View's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for WestSide, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
