Volleyball Recap: South Kitsap Find Success

South Kitsap won the last time they faced Spanaway Lake and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wolves walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Sentinels. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15.

Carly Lyons was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten assists and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high. Kiki Wilson also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: South Kitsap was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spanaway Lake only served six.

Spanaway Lake's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keileana Sablan-Douglas, who had 18 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Aliana Siguaw, who had 15 assists and five digs.

South Kitsap's record now sits at 8-4. As for Spanaway Lake, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. South Kitsap is set to take on their familiar foe Rogers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Spanaway Lake will square off against rival Yelm at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
