Volleyball Recap: Laguna Beach Comes Up Short

Laguna Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sage Hill Lightning. The Breakers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 12-25, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Laguna Beach still got an impressive performance from Ben Goodwin, who had 28 assists and four digs. Goodwin is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season.

Laguna Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Sage Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Laguna Beach will challenge rival University at 5:15 p.m. on the 11th. Meanwhile, Sage Hill is set to face off against their familiar foe St. Margaret's at 5:15 p.m. on the 11th.
