After losing to Mountain View the last time they met, Leigh decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Leigh Longhorns came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mountain View Spartans on Friday, sneaking past  4-2. That's two games straight that the Longhorns have won by  exactly two  runs.
 Sophia Gandara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
 At the plate,  Liliana Pon was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Camryn Manning-Alarcon, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
The  win made it two in a row for Leigh and  bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leigh will square off against Scotts Valley at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they will host San Mateo  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last three games Mountain View has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
