Baseball Game Preview: Otay Ranch Mustangs vs. Olympian Eagles

The Otay Ranch Mustangs will take on the Olympian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Otay Ranch is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Clairemont just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 12-9 to the Chieftains.

Otay Ranch got a big performance out of Carlos Ulloa, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Salazar, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Olympian got themselves on the board against Southwest SD on Saturday, but Southwest SD never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Raiders. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won seven in a row.

Otay Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Olympian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5-1.

Otay Ranch was able to grind out a solid win over Olympian when the teams last played on Monday, winning 8-3. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
