Baseball Game Preview: Shades Valley Mounties vs. Pinson Valley Indians

The Shades Valley Mounties will take on the Pinson Valley Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Shades Valley and John Carroll Catholic have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. Shades Valley came up short against John Carroll Catholic, falling 12-5. The Mounties haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Shades Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Scott, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Scott a new career-high in doubles (two).

Meanwhile, Pinson Valley lost 14-4 to Douglas on Tuesday.

Jaylon Sharpe and Kirby Reddick stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sharpe went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI, while Reddick scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. With that strong performance, Sharpe is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Woods, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Pinson Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. Shades Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
