Baseball Game Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Englewood Rams

Fletcher is 7-1 against Englewood since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Fletcher Senators will host the Englewood Rams at 6:30 p.m. Fletcher will be strutting in after a win while Englewood will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Fletcher sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Nease.

Kyle Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Fletcher saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakeb McDougall, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Atlantic Coast. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by just one run.

Fletcher now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Fletcher skirted past Englewood 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Fletcher have another victory up their sleeve, or will Englewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
