Baseball Recap: Dixie Comes Up Short

Dixie has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.1 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Abbeville Panthers, falling 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since February 28th.

This is the second loss in a row for Dixie and nudges their season record down to 16-4. As for Abbeville, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 16-4.

While Dixie had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
