Basketball Game Preview: Groveton Indians vs. Leon Cougars

Groveton hasn't had much luck against Leon recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Groveton Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Leon Cougars at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Groveton will head into Friday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 28-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Centerville 46-43.

Meanwhile, Leon entered their tilt with Normangee on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They claimed a resounding 50-20 win over the Panthers. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 22 points or more this season.

Leon's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Groveton, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.

Groveton ended up a good deal behind Leon when the teams last played on January 3rd, losing 50-31. Can Groveton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
