Basketball Game Preview: Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds vs. Ottoville Big Green

The Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Ottoville Big Green at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lima Central Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Lima Central Catholic proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 31) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Crestview, sneaking past 53-50.

Meanwhile, Ottoville entered their tilt with Continental on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Pirates 49-32. Given the Big Green's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Pirates are ranked 776th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lima Central Catholic's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Ottoville, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.

Lima Central Catholic strolled past Ottoville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 63-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lima Central Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
