Basketball Recap: Bassick Takes a Loss

Bassick lost against Amistad last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bassick Lions took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amistad Wolves. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Takki Oliver was the offensive standout of the game as he posted 20 points along with seven boards and five blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted four or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Edwards, who earned nine points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Bassick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Amistad, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions duke it out with the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Amistad, they will head out on the road to take on Amity Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
