Softball Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

Live Oak was the 14-6 winner over Santa Teresa when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Acorns fell just short of the Saints by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday.

Peyton Goularte and Quinn Dana- Hulberg did some serious damage despite the final result: Goularte went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Dana- Hulberg went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Goularte has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adia Seider, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Santa Teresa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak will host Willow Glen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Acorns' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Santa Teresa, they will welcome Leigh at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
