Softball Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

The matchup between Edison and Marina on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Chargers fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Chargers have suffered since April 11, 2024.

Sophia Hannappel was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Kaila Arakaki was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Edison dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Marina, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Edison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-1 win against Corona del Mar on the 27th. As for Marina, they have also already played their next game, a 7-2 loss against Huntington Beach on the 29th.
