Softball Recap: The Pilgrim Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Gloucester County Christian on Thursday, The Pilgrim Academy came back down to earth. The Pioneers lost 10-2 to the Conquerors on Tuesday. Pioneers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Conquerors since on Tuesday.

Moriah Parmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Jayden Wolcott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double.

The Pilgrim Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Gloucester County Christian, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Pilgrim Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on King's Christian at 4:00 p.m. on May 6. As for Gloucester County Christian, they will face off against The Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
