Laurel Highlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Albert Gallatin Colonials. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Laurel Highlands got a good showing from Jack Johns, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Johns has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Laurel Highlands got a big performance out of Parker Hoff, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Braylon Schoch was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Laurel Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Albert Gallatin, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6-1.

While Laurel Highlands had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
