Volleyball Recap: Encina Has No Trouble Against Sacramento Waldorf

Encina won the last time they faced Sacramento Waldorf and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Waves.

Encina was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-17.

Nate Wroten paced Encina's offense, picking up 18 kills. Wroten got some help from Yoel Calleja and his 27 assists. Wroten was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Encina's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Sacramento Waldorf, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Encina will challenge Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Bobcats a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Sacramento Waldorf, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Foresthill at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
