Softball Recap: Midway's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but Midway unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Crest Ridge Cougars, falling 25-10. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kendall Goddard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Lannie Rambler, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Midway's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Crest Ridge, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midway will face off against Archie at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Whirlwinds have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Crest Ridge, they will square off against Stover at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
