Football Game Preview: Rio Grande City vs. Palmview

Rio Grande City will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Palmview at 7:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close contest.

Rio Grande City had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it last week as the team lost 31-32 to Roma. Rio Grande City got a solid performance out of senior Elias Cobos, who picked up 91 yards on the ground and caught passes for 100 yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.

Meanwhile, Palmview couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to La Joya by a decisive 19-39 margin.
