Softball Recap: Cocoa Beach Wins Going Away Against Gateway

Cocoa Beach won the last time they faced Gateway and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Minutemen were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Minutemen have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cocoa Beach saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Buck, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits Buck has posted since back in February of 2024. Another was Isabella Deese, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Cocoa Beach hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Cocoa Beach's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Gateway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Cocoa Beach has already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on the 28th. Gateway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
