Preview: Holmes Bulldogs vs. Harrison County Thorobreds
Holmes has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Harrison County Thorobreds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holmes comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Two weeks ago, Holmes took a serious blow against Grant County, falling 35-8.
Meanwhile, Harrison County was beaten by Covington Catholic 56-6 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Harrison County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Covington Catholic is ranked sixth).
Despite the loss, Harrison County got a solid performance out of Kaydon Custard, who threw for 222 yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Holmes to 0-8 and Harrison County to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Holmes against Harrison County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-15 win. Will Holmes repeat their success, or does Harrison County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
