Volleyball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Highlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Cherokee Braves, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-9, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cherokee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dvdaya Swimmer, who had 19 digs and four aces. Lilly Lossiah was another key player, getting three digs and two aces.

Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cherokee, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Highlands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Hayesville on the 18th. As for Cherokee, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Andrews on the 18th.
