Volleyball Recap: Corona Panthers vs. Santiago Sharks
Corona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Santiago Sharks, falling 3-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Sharks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-16.
Santiago was led to victory by Santiago Mancera and Elijah Tajo. Mancera had three digs and three aces, while Tajo had 11 digs. Khalif Muhammad also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.
Corona's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Santiago, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coming up, Corona will challenge Centennial at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santiago, they will take on King at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
