Basketball Recap: Kinston Comes Up Short

Kinston lost against New Hanover back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Kinston Vikings came up short against the New Hanover Wildcats, falling 79-56.

Kinston's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for New Hanover, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Kinston and New Hanover should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Kinston will face off against West Carteret at 5:30 p.m. on Monday up 162 places (41 vs. 203). Kinston is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Similarly, New Hanover (ranked 15th) will meet West Brunswick (ranked 199th) at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
