Clay had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.1 goals) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They never let the Oakleaf Knights onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Knights are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clay's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Oakleaf, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Clay will venture away from home to take on Orange Park at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oakleaf, they will challenge Beachside at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
