The Chilton Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Shiocton Chiefs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Chilton is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Chilton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Two Rivers get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Slaytt Nolan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kale Wagner was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mike Vanden Heuvel, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Chilton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Shiocton got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.
Chilton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Shiocton, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything went Chilton's way against Shiocton in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Chilton made off with a 14-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
