Football Recap: Anna Skates Past Denison with Ease

There's no place like home for Anna, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-17 victory over the Denison Yellow Jackets. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 320th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anna had a senior duo take command as Ziondre Williams threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns and Ace Traylor gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns. Williams is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Anna didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Denison to a completion percentage of just 48.5%. The team can thank Basit Adeseun for the heroic effort on defense: he. Anna wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 59.5%.

Anna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Israel Johnson and Dre Young. Young got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Although Denison took the loss, they still got scores from Alex Camacho and Rashaun Dehorney.

Anna's record is now 6-2. As for Denison, their record now sits at 4-3.
