Recap: Curtis Baptist Crusaders vs. Wardlaw Academy Patriots
The Curtis Baptist Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Wardlaw Academy 47-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Curtis Baptist also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Curtis Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maci Butler led the charge by scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds and five steals. Butler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Nyla Robinson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Curtis Baptist and bumps their season record up to 9-5-1. As for Wardlaw Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Curtis Baptist will be playing at home against Cambridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wardlaw Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Richard Winn Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th.
