Recap: Antietam Mountaineers vs. Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers
If the Antietam Mountaineers were riding high off their 56-23 takedown of the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Antietam fell just short of Steelton-Highspire by a score of 61-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (56), Antietam still had to take the loss.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Schiefly, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Schiefly's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Raffety, who scored 16 points.
Antietam's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Steelton-Highspire, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Antietam will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wyomissing at 7:30 p.m. Steelton-Highspire won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Boiling Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Boiling Springs is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
