Baseball Game Preview: PikeView Panthers vs. Graham G-Men

PikeView and Graham are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will take on the G-Men in a tournament on Friday. PikeView will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

PikeView's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Castlewood with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon Wyatt was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Bennett, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Graham hadn't done well against Galax recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The G-Men walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Maroon Tide.

Brayden Wooldridge made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wooldridge was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Miller, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

The win got Graham back to even at 1-1. As for PikeView, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

PikeView beat Graham 7-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the G-Men turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
