Softball Recap: West Rebels vs. William Blount Governors
West lost against William Blount back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The West Rebels wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
West saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Humphreys, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Humphreys has posted since back in April of 2024. Brooklyn Burnett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Even though they lost, West hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive matchups.
West now has a losing record of 2-3. As for William Blount, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
West will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Farragut at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for William Blount, they will challenge East Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. East Hamilton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
